Tour de Tejas
Sitting in a coffee shop in New Braunfels... Day four on the road in Texas.
A quick look at what this project is about... I'm trying to focus on three things.
+
1. Story :: This is Ray, a genuine cowboy with a really refreshing attitude on life, and how we spend our time.

2. Portraits :: Setting up portraits along the way... these are a few from Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon in Austin. Sunday night is "Chicken Sh*t Bingo" Night... which I'll explain later : )

3. Place :: I love signage. I love polaroids. I love mixing the two.

Leaving Hill Country this afternoon to shoot in Uvalde, then off to camp in Big Bend for a couple nights before a day in Marfa, quick drive through Midland/Odessa, Cattle Weening in Dalhart & back to Dallas/Fort Worth for a couple jobs. Us photographers may not always break the bank with our profession, but being able to have weeks like this... It's pretty incredible.
May be a while before the next update... go outside and get some fresh air. Life is good.

fan-freaking-tastic.
Looks awesome Eric! Proud of you. Have fun and be safe.
Those polaroids are tiptop! Really like all of your work with polaroid. You're 100% correct with your statement about being able to have good times like this, even if they wallet isn't full. Have fun!
I grew up in Uvalde, actually Knippa - ten miles away. Have fun! Great pics.
I'm excited to see how this project turns out. I know you'll capture this state and the great many "quirks" about our state well. Hope you enjoy and give Bobby a hard time for me in Dalhart.
when are you taking MY picture? come to athens and bring your woman. we have a lot of polaroid-worthy signage down here.
where do you get your polaroid film?
Eric, I just received a phone call from my Uncle Rey Herrera, the genuine cowboy. He told about your site and all the pictures are GREAT!!!! I am planning on getting the book or magazine that has all the photos in it. Are there alot of them from the ranch that he works at, or were his photos taken somewhere else?
