Dan Winters

I've mentioned my admiration for Dan Winters before... found this video on a friend's blog this morning. It might be old, but I think the principles are timeless. Good thoughts on being comfortable with clients, being confident on set, putting your subject at ease and shooting great portraits.

If you don't know Dan's work, I highly recommend checking out his website and ordering his book. He's a master of portraiture, and a role model of mine.

I found this and one other video on Mr. Hobby's blog (can't think of his first name right now). I loved the watching the videos and looking at his website so I then checked his book out from the library. I couldn't put the book down. Every spare second I would break it open and pour over his images. I continued to do so over and over until it left my hands and went back to the library. Not that I am a world of knowledge but he is one of, if not my favorite photographer. His work is beautiful and I am with you in recommending him and his work.
