I agree 100%! Can't quite put my finger on it but the 5D has this unique feel / look to it that makes me still love it even 4 years after buying it. It's the closest thing to film there is out there. Even the 5D MkII is not as good. Feels more digital, cold, non-organic. Definitely not upgrading anytime soon. 5D + 50mm 1.4 + battery grip = best casual setup ever.
Yup - another identical vote - sold my 5d when I got a 5dii - also can't place exactly what it is, but somehow the 5d images had a tonal creaminess that the ii just doesn't match with the same lenses. Still, can't complain - they both beat the hell out of paying for film and processing, and/or paddling about in toxic darkroom chemicals.
